Director’s Statement
“The Boy is my first scripted narrative after spending the past decade working in documentary film. That background shapes how I approach storytelling I’m always looking for what feels honest and grounded. Even when the characters are navigating extreme circumstances, I want their emotions and behavior to feel real and recognizable.
With this film, I focused on staying close to the characters and letting the performances breathe. My documentary experience taught me to observe carefully and trust subtle moments, and I carried that into this narrative work. The Boy represents a step into a new space for me, while still holding onto the authenticity that has always guided my filmmaking.”
